📢 Wi******er Local Government Reorganisation - Have you had your say?

Local Government Reorganisation is going ahead across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, which will likely result in the replacement of the current district councils with 4-5 new ones.

As part of this, Wi******er City Council will be dissolved in 2028, and a new Wi******er Parish Council could be created to cover the city and some surrounding areas.

Wi******er City Council is asking residents for their views on future parish boundaries.

Current suggestions include:

• Bushfield Camp being removed from Compton & Shawford Parish
• Kings Barton joining the new Wi******er Parish
• Harestock being removed from Littleton & Harestock Parish
• Oliver’s Battery and Badger Farm being fully absorbed into the Wi******er Parish

Compton & Shawford Parish Council has concerns about the financial and community impact of potentially losing Bushfield Camp from our parish.

📝 Have your say!
The survey closes 23:59 on Monday 22 December 2025.

⚠️ Bushfield Camp could be removed from our parish! ⚠️

Wi******er City Council are looking into forming a Wi******er Town Council to replace the City Council, following the Local Government Reorganisation.

They are proposing to add Bushfield Camp, Harestock, part of Kings Barton, Olivers Battery and Badger Farm Parishes, to the Town Council area.

We are concerned about the financial and community loss if Bushfield Camp moves from the parish into Wi******er Town.

🚓 Meet Your Local Police Community Support Officers in Shawford 🚓

This Saturday (13th), between 1pm and 3pm, PCSO Michelle Wilkinson and PCSO Kerry Croutear will be outside Platform One at Shawford Train Station.

They’ll be on hand to:

- Offer crime prevention advice on local crime trends, scams, and personal/cyber safety

- Provide bike marking: bring your bike along to have it added to the national Bike Register, helping ensure it can be returned if ever stolen

This is a great opportunity to get advice and ask questions. Please spread the word, especially to neighbours who might not be able to get to a police station easily.
