Heritage Open Days 2026

Wisbech & Fenland Museum will be open free of charge on Saturday 12 September in support of this year’s Heritage Open Days Festival.

This is a great opportunity to explore our latest temporary exhibition, ‘Curiosity to Collection: Townshend’s Legacy’ and to view Charles Dickens’ manuscript of ‘Great Expectations.’

A number of other local venues are also taking part in the festival this year, including St. Peter and St. Paul Church, and Peckover House & Garden, National Trust

Wisbech Gallery launch their 2026 Open exhibition on Saturday 12 September too, so it’s a great day to explore Wisbech’s many arts and culture assets completely free-of-charge.

Full details of all venues taking part this year can be found on the Festival website: https://www.heritageopendays.org.uk

WE ARE WATERLEES IS ON IT'S WAY!!

We Are Waterlees is a one-day, popup mini-festival, and it's happening NEXT MONTH!

August. A ‘getting ready’ kind of month. A month of ‘preparing for’. A month when it can be difficult to live in the moment and savour the now as we’re so busy planning for what’s to come. Back to school; back to work; perhaps back to college or university. Here at Marketplace Arts we’ve been preparing for an altogether more exciting return. Wisbech - we’re coming back to Waterlees!

WE ARE WATERLEES

Saturday 26 September 2026

Circle the date on your calendar and block out the 26th September in your diary: We Are Waterlees is an event you won’t want to miss!

Following on from our Skate Park Takeover at Bath Road, we’ll be
returning to the Waterlees Estate for a community celebration with
something for everyone to have a go at. We Are Waterlees is a pop-up mini-festival bringing creative activities, music, dancing, food, connection and fun to the whole community.

We’ll have K J Folk returning to provide music and bringing the fun
with ceilidh dancing! The Living Better lads will be onsite with
football, archery and axe throwing activities (mind your heads!). The Youths of Fenland horsebox will be serving pizzas and we’ll have some fun creative activities for everyone to have a go at - including a very cool songwriting activity with musician & poet Jay Sandhu.

A celebration of the people and community of the Waterlees Estate, the event, organised by Marketplace Arts will be packed with creativity, opportunities to get involved and plenty of reasons to celebrate the talent, energy and imagination of the Waterlees community. We'll be sharing more details very soon, so keep an eye on our social media channels.
