Our first day back in the garden this year was white with snow, and frozen solid ❄️❄️❄️ Since then, there has been so much happening from mulching borders and pruning roses, to repairing gates and glasshouses, removing a huge fig with a vintage two-handled saw, and harvesting oranges from our veteran orange trees. Winter is such a busy time in the garden, at least that keeps us warm!

We propagated the fig before we removed the parent tree, and will plant the offspring in a pit lined with slabs and rubble to restrict it's growth and encourage it to fruit. The parent tree was growing unrestricted, and grew so large each year it barely produced any fruit and was damaging the historic wall behind it! We will post more on this story as it progresses.
