As works continue at Great Oaks, we’ve been busy documenting not only all that goes into our refurbishments, but also some pieces to help welcome new staff into the business and bring them up to speed on all that we do, and stand for. There’s so much thought and care (pardon the pun!) that goes into everything we as a business strive for, and passion is something we are grateful to have in abundance throughout our organisation 🩷🖤

We recently welcomed Mark Penney to Calm Futures as our new Group Managing Director.

Mark brings a wealth of experience in adult social care, having worked in senior leadership roles across a number of leading care providers. Throughout his career, he has supported the growth and development of services across learning disability, autism, mental health, and specialist complex care settings, always with a strong focus on quality, compassion, and positive outcomes.

Passionate about improving the lives of the people we support, Mark believes that the best outcomes are achieved through inclusive, collaborative working and strong relationships with colleagues, families, and communities. Mark is also a strong advocate for recognising the dedication and contribution of frontline teams, valuing the important role colleagues play every day in delivering high-quality care and support.

We’re really looking forward to working alongside him, and the insight he brings to our ever growing organisation.

When one door closes and all - as ‘Sally Meadows’ in Marks Tey is now largely finished, it seemed only right to introduce ‘Great Oaks’, our next project situated in picturesque East Hanningfield, just outside Chelmsford in Essex.

Well suited to those with complex needs and mobility requirements, and sporting two self-contained bungalows, we hope to welcome residents late autumn. We’re looking forward to all this beautiful property has to offer, watch this space!✨

Last month we welcomed Jonathon Scott as our new Area Manager for Calm Futures Norfolk. Jonny brings over 20 years of experience within the sector, having worked a range of roles for various providers up and down the country. From his belief in compassionate and person centred care, to his commitment to developing teams and maintain safe and consistent practice, it was clear his values aligned with ours, and we wish him every success as he takes the helm of our Norfolk operations.

We are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted as a Finalist for the Complex Care Provider of the Year - Homecare or Supported Living category at this year's HealthInvestor Awards. Being recognised in such a way is a testament to all that Calm Futures has achieved in the past couple of years, and all those who have made it possible. It’s that teamwork and camaraderie that will continue to carry us forward as we continue to grow in years to come. The winners aren’t due to be announced until June, so in the meantime - wish us luck!🍀

Can you believe it's the end of the month already!? Just like that, the 28 days of February are done, and Nicky had not only completed, but exceeded her 28 miles in 28 days for Alzheimers Research UK. 🧡

We'd like to extend a huge congratulations to Nicky and her team, for surpassing their goal despite some setbacks along the way. Not only that, but Nicky has raised well over £200 - more than double her original one hundred pounds goal, WELL DONE ALL! 🏆🏅

A couple of weeks' back, all of our incredible leadership team from across all three counties Essex, Norfolk & Herts came together into one room for the first meeting of the year.

After all of the growth 2025 brought, it was really special seeing the way everyone worked together and collaborated, to fly the flag on all Calm Futures does and stands for.
