Crittall Steel Windows News and Images from the leading manufacturer of steel windows, doors and internal screens

Kinda chic to make a house a home, like the Crittall House of the Year 2026 Winner.

A Shropshire renovation that’s as full of life as it is of light. Dogs running between rooms and a welcome that would make anyone feel instantly at home, this is a house built for living in.

A huge thank you to the homeowners, Alison and Stu, for opening their doors and sharing their beautiful home with us. And to Three Spires Glass & Windows for an installation that lets the whole house glow.

A special shoutout to the filmmaker who understands what makes a Crittall home special. Thank you to Thepropertyphotographer for returning to capture this year’s House of the Year with the same care, skill and eye for detail as last year. A true professional, and we couldn’t imagine telling these stories with anyone else.

Strength is in the detail.

A beautiful home should never have to choose between looking the part and being secure. Genuine Crittall steel is slim, elegant and quietly formidable, independently tested against forced entry, with handles and locks to match.

Protection, considered down to the last detail. Nothing heavy. Nothing seen. Simply the timeless steel aesthetic that has defined fine homes for generations.

Take a tour of the Crittall House of the Year 2026.

This much-loved Shropshire home was reworked around light, flow and genuine steel. Swipe through and move with us from the arched glass gable at the front, into the kitchen where black Crittall glazing frames the garden, through to the oak-framed room where slim steel profiles sit beautifully within the original timber.

The family had lived with original Crittall windows for 21 years. When the time came to replace them, staying with genuine steel was the only choice: the thinner profiles cannot be matched, and the result is a home that feels open, connected and full of light, with its character completely intact.

Congratulations to our specialist partner Three Spires Glass.

Completing our Crittall House of the Year finalist spotlights: Lightfoot's installation of two new family homes in Reigate.

Nic and Sam Burchett and their neighbours John and Emma Sanderson secured planning to build within their adjoining gardens. Planning asked for homes that felt related but not identical, an approach the team called sisters, not twins.

Clay brickwork, clay roof tiles and timber sash windows are shared across both properties. The clearest point of difference is the finish: bronze for Nic and Sam's home, black for John and Emma's.

In both, Crittall doors frame the connection between the kitchen and the garden.

Our winner will be revealed in October in KBB magazine
