You can find all information relating to the Witham Community and the work of the Town Council on this page. The Town Council is responsible for local issues affecting the Citizens of Witham and works to promote and defend the Town's interests. The Town Council operates four standing committees and sub-committees (open to the public) and nine advisory committees, covering areas including planning,

environment and community. Witham Town Council manages the River Walk, Whetmead Nature Reserve, the Closed Churchyard in Lockram Lane and James Cooke Wood. We are also responsible fore street lamps with WTC in the identification number. Please note that refuse collections in the town, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, street cleaning and dog waste bins are dealt with by Braintree District Council (www.braintree.gov.uk) and issues with the town's roads, road signs, traffic lights and pot holes are under the management of Essex Highways (www.essexhighways.org)

Our Bio Blitz event is running at Whetmead Nature Reserve - ๐“๐ก๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐š ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ฉ๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ....You, your family & guests are experiencing the nature trails around the reserve, spotting wildlife and learning about the wild flowers, trees, insects and animals that call this home! So come down, speak to the experts and explore our wonderful nature area. The event runs for another 2 hours.

Something a little different today to look out for as you wander round the River Walk, Whetmead Nature Reserve, James Cooke Wood or the Closed Churchyard. You may have to look a little closer & use a bit of imagination but nature can be surprising! Is this a "horse" chestnut I captured near Guithavon Valley? ๐Ÿง

Join the Witham Town Mayor at The Grove Shopping Centre as he shows his support for the Alzheimerโ€™s Society. While heโ€™s there, heโ€™ll be happy to chat and answer questions about any local matters.
Drop in between 10am and 3pm and pick up some useful information to take home.
