Withernsea Town Council would like to thank Storeys Funfair and EYPP for helping us put a suitable temporary solution in place for Valley Gardens for the summer season.

Once the season is over, grass will be put on the site making it ready for next year.

Starting next month, the Wollstonecraft Society have a year -long programme for 11 - 17 year olds living in Withernsea and the surrounding areas. It is monthly creative and cultural sessions involving being in Withernsea and trips out of Withernsea.

The first Withernsea & Patrington Pride in Place Board meeting took place on Friday 12th June.

The meeting covered introductions, necessary governance, operating framework and the working timeline ahead — but the most encouraging part was seeing local people around the table with real passion, energy and ambition for our communities.

This is an exciting opportunity to listen to residents, community groups and local businesses, gather ideas, and help turn as many of them as possible into positive, lasting improvements for Withernsea, Patrington & surrounding rural communities.

More information will follow soon, including details of the Board, meeting minutes, and how people can get involved and share their suggestions.

Withernsea Town Council extends its heartfelt congratulations to Jayne Nendick on being awarded an MBE for her outstanding services to the community in Withernsea and South East Holderness.

This honour recognises her unwavering dedication, her compassion for local people, and the transformative impact of her work over many years. Jayne’s commitment has strengthened our community and inspired countless others to give back.

The Council is immensely proud to see her achievements recognised at national level, and we thank her for everything she continues to do for Withernsea and the wider area.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has confirmed that funding has been allocated in the 2026/27 Local Transport Plan budget for new dropped crossings with tactile paving in the Withernsea area. Around seven locations can be delivered, depending on the work required at each site.

We’ve been asked to gather suggestions from the community about where these improvements would be most helpful.

If you have ideas for locations that would benefit from safer, more accessible crossings, please send your suggestions directly to [email protected]. All comments will be collated and forwarded to ERYC for assessment.

Your input will help shape accessibility improvements in our town.
