As per the latest update (quoted below), we're pleased to see the Fáte go ahead as planned! 🎉

Big thanks to all the volunteers working extra hard to make this happen - our beautiful village needs you! 🫶🏼

"A quick update on last week’s spill on the recreational ground, I was told yesterday by a Thames Water specialist that they have removed topsoil as needed and disinfected the area where the spill occurred. Dogs and people should not walk or play on the area of the spill for at least 12 days, per Thames Water's guidelines. This time frame is determined by the weather and season. The VH Fete Committee are installing a fence today to demarcate clearly the area, so that the Fete can go ahead on the rest of the field. This fence will need to stay in place for the next 12 days from yesterday (i.e. until 8 June)."

🎨 Leafield Playground Drawing Competition! 🧒👧

​Hi everyone! Please encourage your children to get creative and enter this fantastic drawing competition to help transform our local playground.

​Theme: Create your dream playground using any medium!

​Age Groups: EYFS, KS1, and KS2 (Win an Art Kit!)

​Cost: £1 per entry (All proceeds go to the playground)

​Deadline/Winner Announcement: Leafield Village Fête on Saturday, 30th May.

​Entries can be emailed to [email protected] or handed in at the fête. Let's get drawing and support a great cause! 🏰✨

The introductions continue! Next up, meet our very own Adventure Architect... Vicky Price ! 🏗️✨

​Vicky is a familiar face at our local parks, usually powered by carefully rationed coffee and the occasional bit of emergency chocolate. ☕️🍫

​She brings some serious "superpowers" to the squad, including a professional background in museum exhibition management and an arguably excessive (but very helpful!) love for colour-coded spreadsheets. 📊🎨

Whether it’s diving into imaginative storytelling adventures with her two-year-old or organizing our planning documents, Vicky is dedicated to making our playground a space where curiosity and creativity can run wild.

​We are so lucky to have your enthusiasm and expert planning skills on the committee, Vicky! 🙌🏼

Next up in our motley crew of playground-builders... meet Aga! 🤩

Aga joined the committee for the noble cause of community spirit, but we suspect she's mostly just here to ensure the new swings can support 'adult-sized' testing sessions. 🧐⚖️

​When she isn't helping us plot the future of Leafield’s playtime, you’ll likely find her chasing her kids across the football pitch, drawing a picture of a local Labrador or trying to find a matching pair of socks.

We take our "fun" very seriously! While we’re busy behind the scenes making sure the Leafield Playground Project stays on track, we figured it was about time we stepped out from behind the blueprints.
✨​We’ve rounded up a motley crew of local volunteers to get the job done. Between us, we’ve got a mix of "superpowers"—ranging from spreadsheet wizardry to being professional swing-set testers—and we can’t wait for you to meet the whole squad.

👀​Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days as we introduce the faces behind the fun. We’re just a group of neighbors dedicated to building a space where every kid (and kid-at-heart) in Leafield can play!

🚧 Play Area Update: Safety First! 🚧

The Leafield Playground Committee is hard at work ensuring our community’s favorite play spot stays in tip-top shape. We’ve recently completed maintenance on our trim trail, replacing several wooden posts and beams to keep the equipment safe and secure for all our young adventurers.

Whether it's balancing, climbing, or navigating the chains, the trail is ready for action! 🧗‍♂️✨

A huge thank you to everyone for your ongoing support as we keep our playground a fun and safe environment for the children. Come down and test out the refreshed course this weekend!

🛝 Big Things are Bubbling!

Something exciting is zipping your way! The Playground Committee is huddling up today to keep the momentum going on our favorite project.

While we have to keep things under wraps for just a little bit longer, we have some huge news brewing that we can’t wait to share with the whole community soon! 🤫✨
