THERE were red faces at Wellington Town Council on Tuesday (October 20) as new public conveniences had to be closed just eight days after they were opened following a wait of nearly four years.

Wellington Town Council has confirmed that following a satisfactory inspection of the new toilet block on Longforth Road, is now open for use.
The new toilet block has two unisex cubicles, one having a baby change facility that will open between 7.30am and 7.30pm daily. The third cubicle is an accessible and baby change facility that will open between the same times, with out-of-hours access available with a RADAR KEY.

PORTABLE toilets are being hired by the town council for use during Saturday’s (September 26) Wellington Carnival after it admitted £220,000 new public conveniences would not be open in time.
