FREE Seated Exercise Classes

Join our fun, social chair-based exercise class to improve your health and well-being.

6 FREE classes are being run at the Wiveliscombe Community Centre funded by Wiveliscombe Town Council.

WHEN? Starts on Wednesday 3rd June at 10 am-10.45 am

WHERE? At the Community Centre and runs for 6 weeks.

COST? 6 classes are FREE

Find us in the upstairs room – there is a lift. No need to book.

We all know that being physically active is good for us, but not everyone can take part in activities like walking, cycling or aerobics classes. If that’s the case for you, but you want to keep active, then chair-based exercise could be just what you’re looking for. This is an exercise class specifically designed for improving strength, flexibility, heart and lung health. It is low impact seated exercise (gentle on the joints). Some of the exercises are done with music and we encourage you to go at your own pace!

Wear loose comfortable clothing, trainers or shoes that tie on and support your feet and bring a bottle of water or something to drink.

If you have a health condition, check with your GP before starting to exercise more.

Resurfacing works on the A38 Wellington to Taunton start Thursday 26 February

🚧 As part of the rolling programme of vital road repairs in and around Taunton and Wellington, resurfacing works will begin on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton from the evening of Thursday 26 February. Work will start under a road closure at 7.30pm at Chelston Roundabout and move towards Taunton.

We will be resurfacing the length of the A38 to Taunton, in sections, over a 2-3 week period, weekday overnight working only. A short section at World’s End junction is excluded due to planned works later this year.

Access and diversions:
• No access to the M5/Wellington during works via that section of the A38
• Signed diversion for most vehicles via M5 (J25 /J26/ A38 Chelston)
• Non‑motorway traffic diverted via Trull and Blackdown

🌧️ These works are weather dependent. We’ll keep you updated if timings change.

Thanks for your patience while we carry out these improvements. Find FAQs at: https://www.somerset.gov.uk/news/vital-road-repairs-scheduled-for-taunton-and-wellington/
