Lovely area.

There will be carriageway resurfacing works on Houndhouse Road from Tuesday 1st September to Friday 18th September 8am to 5pm, on weekdays only. This means the road will be closed from the junction with Hound House Farm to just north of the
junction with Barhatch Road. Staff will make sure you can get to and from your house or business when it is safe to do so. Please talk to a member of our staff on site if you need help.

FYI - GUILDFORD - WALKFEST

Twenty years ago Guildford Borough held the first 'Walkfest' in September 2006 and will do so once again in 2026, for the last time. One or more walks are usually organised most days throughout the month somewhere in the borough. Walk leaders usually prefer people to register interest in advance and the full programme can be found on the 'Visit Surrey' website and at www.guildfordwalkfest.co.uk As always please wear suitable footwear if coming on any of these walks. Of particular local interest this year is:
Wednesday 2nd September at 10:00 – Send Towpath and Country Ramble
A 5 mile ramble taking you through marsh fields, along the Wey Navigation towpath and on woodland, meadow and lakeside paths in the village of Send. .
The above walk starts from the car park of Send Evangelical Church, Broadmead Road, GU23 7AD.
There are some other walks this year just outside the Send/Ripley area including:
Friday 18th September at 10:00 – West Horsley (3 miles)
Monday 21st September at 10:15 – West Horsley & Sheepleas (1 hour)

Now in our 21st year, Walkfest is a community project run entirely by volunteers, acting as an “umbrella” to bring many groups together and promote walking, learning and enjoyment of the great outdoors.

🚧 The following roads will be closed for the installation of a new road layout at Black Cat junction:

➡️ A1 northbound between Tempsford and Black Cat
➡️ A1 southbound between Wyboston and Tempsford
➡️ A421 westbound between Black Cat and Renhold Interchange
➡️ Bedford Road between the Roxton Road turn-off and Black Cat

❌ Do not rely on sat navs - follow the signposted diversions
