Places Leisure has been running Wokingham Borough Council’s leisure centres for a year now – and to mark the anniversary, is seeking volunteers to join focus groups to give feedback on the service.

As the council’s contractor, Places Leisure run the following sites Loddon Valley Leisure Centre, Carnival Pool Leisure Centre, St Crispin’s Leisure Centre, Arborfield Leisure Centre, Ryeish Green Leisure Centre and Bulmershe Leisure Centre (Currently being re-built)

During its first year, Places Leisure has invested £2 million at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre to create a 100-station gym and a soft-play area that will open later this month. Further investment has led to the current rebuild of Bulmershe Leisure Centre with future plans for Carnival Pool Leisure Centre.

A series of focus groups are being organised to see what centre users think of these investments and the way Places Leisure is operating.
The focus groups will be at:

Thursday 6th June – Loddon Valley Leisure Centre
Tuesday 11th June -St Crispin’s Leisure Centre
Thursday 13th June – Ryeish Green Sports Hub

All the sessions will be from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm and refreshments will be provided.

Executive member for Environment, Libraries and Leisure Cllr John Halsall said: “Places Leisure has put a lot of investment into our centres and will be carrying out further improvements but it is always important to get the customers’ views and these focus groups are a good opportunity for that.

“I urge those who use the centres or live nearby to sign up for one of the sessions to give us their views.”
