Finally the election is here. At the heart of being your local Borough Councillor is standing up for residents and helping to resolve the issues that matter most to our community. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received from local people, including many who have already contributed so much to our area.
As someone that has lived in the ward for the last 15 years, I have seen many changes, yet at its heart, it is a truly beautiful place to live. I want to play my part in preserving that. As someone that has worked alongside government at every level for 25 years, I understand what great public service delivery looks like. This is something I wish to help shape for residents. My priorities and pledge to you:
🌳 Protect our green spaces and prevent development on the greenbelt
🗑️ Cut wasteful spending and speed up how the council responds to you
🚧 Improve the state of our roads and road safety
👫 Ensure that local schools cater for local families
🚉 Work with GWR to speed up parking provision at Twyford station
I can promise you this; no-one will ever out-work me. It has been an enormous privillege to take part in this process and to meet so many wonderful people from across the length and breadth of the ward.
I’m committed to delivering the change Thames Ward deserves. On 7th May, vote Leon Cook for strong local representation and a clear voice for our community across the parishes.
