Class 5 enjoyed a wonderful morning outdoors at Hamsterley Forest. They took part in team-building activities, developing their communication skills and making sure everyone was included before moving on to some survival challenges. The children worked together to choose items and animals that would help them survive in the wilderness, then collaborated to build a den, which was tested to see if it was waterproof. It was lovely to see the class being so supportive of one another during the activities. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Class 1 and Class 3 were thrilled to welcome author Adam Bushnell last week. Class 3 had an engaging and inspiring writing session. They explored how to “show, not tell” by describing characters’ facial expressions and body language to bring their ideas to life. The visit sparked lots of creativity, and everyone especially enjoyed meeting his tortoise, Jet! Reception Class had two important visitors this afternoon - Adam and his pet tortoise Jet. The children showed great imagination and had lots of fun working on superhero themed stories. They created their own superhero and decided what superpowers their hero had and what it would wear. They also created an animal sidekick for their superhero and a villain. They loved seeing Jet wearing his superhero outfits. We are very proud of how enthusiastic and creative the children were during their session with Adam.

Congratulations to Freya and Ruby!

Congratulations to Freya who plays for the under 8 Durham and Cleveland Tennis Team. She recently took part in the County Cup Tennis Tournament and her team came third. A huge well done!

Ruby recently attended the Cheer Youth Summit 2026 in Florida! The team did an incredible job and ‘Hit Zero’ (meaning no deductions). They placed 17th in the world in their category!
They missed out on a place into the finals by 0.03, the top 16 went through out of 34 of the best teams in the world and her team finished 17th! It was disappointing for the team not to make the finals to compete for higher places, but an incredible achievement none the less.

Nursery Provision Further Questionnaire
We would like to thank all those who completed our last nursery provision questionnaires, however we need a bit more information before we can make an informed decision as to how we proceed. We would like the help again of any parents who have Nursery aged children or younger to provide us with some information and feedback. We would be very grateful if those parents would take the time to complete our questionnaire using the links below and also pass them on to any friends whose child(ren) might not already attend our nursery.
