🏴‍☠️Ahoy, mateys! Treasure Island is coming to Moseley Old Hall!

🎭Join Quantum Theatre on Thursday 27 August, 7pm–8:45pm for a swashbuckling outdoor adventure with Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver and Cap’n Flint the parrot.

⚔Expect sword fights, sea shanties, high drama and plenty of pirate fun in this exciting adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic family adventure.

🧺Bring a picnic, a blanket or folding chairs and settle in for a fantastic evening of outdoor theatre under the summer sky.

The 17th century was fascinating. It was also pretty gruesome.

Join us for a very different evening at Moseley on Friday 28 August, 7pm-8:30pm, as we open the Hall for an exclusive after-hours tour followed by a fascinating talk on the darker side of 17th-century medicine.

Step into the atmospheric Hall after the doors have closed, uncover some of its stories, then discover what life was really like for a Barber Surgeon - when toothache, injury and infection could have very unpleasant consequences…

The tearoom will be open before the talk, from 6:15pm - 6:45pm, where you will be able to purchase drinks; these must be consumed before the tour begins.

Please note: This event includes discussion of historic medical procedures, including dentistry, battlefield injuries and amputation. It is intended for adults (18+) and is not recommended for the faint-hearted. The tour includes stairs and is not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors unable to walk or stand without assistance.

🌡️ Heat update for Moseley Old Hall

Due to the current extreme heat, some rooms in the Hall may need to close at short notice if the internal temperature becomes too high for our staff and volunteers to work in safely.

The tearoom will also be operating with a reduced menu on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 August.

The planned craft activity on Thursday 13 August will finish early at 1pm due to the heat.

We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Please take care when visiting in the hot weather, stay hydrated, and enjoy the cooler areas of the site where possible.

Please also be patient with our staff and volunteers, as some services may take a little longer than usual in the heat.

🎲From Saturday 18 July, get ready for a summer full of family fun in the gardens. Challenge your friends and family to five giant versions of traditional board games, then head to the Cow Shed to discover a selection of classic board games to enjoy together, available Friday to Wednesday - included with admission, no booking required.

🎨Every Thursday throughout the summer, you can also get creative with our family craft activities, with a different craft to make each week, £1.50 per crafter, normal admission costs apply, no booking required.

With the warm weather upon us, we’ll be serving a slightly reduced menu over the weekend to help look after the wellbeing of our team while continuing to provide you with the best service we can.
