We had an amazing turnout at Central Library on Saturday for Kevin Harris's engaging talk exploring the history of Wolves Football Club and the Molineux family! We were also delighted to welcome Renée Young, widow of renowned author Percy M. Young, whose two books remain key works on the clubs history (both are available to borrow from our Reserve collection 😁🐺)

Emma is a local poet and author and was Wolverhampton’s first poet laureate 2020-2022. ‘Dogged’ is a rich, complex, and engaging tale, centred on two women in their 70s and is set in Wolverhampton. Speak to staff at Bilston library if you would like to borrow a copy of her book in advance of the event.

Kevin Harris will be shining the spotlight on the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend – just one of a series of heritage-themed events taking place Central Library over the coming months.

Kevin's illustrated presentation will look at the Molineux Family and the club's foundation in 1877, as it approaches its 150th anniversary. It takes place on Saturday (13 June) from 11am-1pm, and to book a space, call Central Library on 01902 552025 or email [email protected].

Also planned in the near future are a number of history walks and a special Heritage Open Days event. Councillor Jeszemma Howl, Cabinet Member for Governance and Digital, said: "Central Library has an exciting programme of events in the coming months, offering residents and visitors a wonderful opportunity to explore Wolverhampton’s rich history, discover hidden stories, and connect with the people who have shaped our city.”
