Patients at our Trust are benefiting from an innovative new way to investigate bowel conditions, offering a less invasive experience than traditional procedures.

Colon Capsule Endoscopy offers selected patients an alternative to traditional colonoscopy, which can be uncomfortable and a longer hospital visit.

The images can then be reviewed by clinical teams to help diagnose colonic disorders.

Our Bereavement Team is hosting an event with Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation for Baby Loss Awareness Week (BLAW).

Taking place from 9-15 October every year, BLAW raises awareness of pregnancy and baby loss in the UK and gives anyone touched by baby loss a safe and supportive space to share their experiences 💜

Join a coffee and craft morning and prepare for the wave of light - a globally recognised event where families across the world light a candle at 7pm on 15 October, and leave it burning for at least one hour to remember all babies that have died too soon 🕯

A memorial service has been arranged to enable bereaved parents, their families, and friends to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at birth – or soon after – or in infancy.

All parents and families who have suffered the loss of a baby, regardless of gestation, are invited to attend the service which will take place on Sunday 11 October, 3pm, at St Joseph’s RC Church, Willenhall Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 2QN.

This year’s Black History Month theme is ‘Honouring our communities’.

Valerie Davis reflects on her role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support Project, and the importance of her work in supporting those with sickle cell – a genetic condition which mainly affects people with Black African or Black Caribbean backgrounds.

The project aims to raise awareness, educate and support communities effected by sickle cell disease or thalassaemia.

An NHS choir is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of bringing staff together through music, friendship and support.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Staff Choir (RWT Choir) held its first rehearsal on 13 October 2016, with the aim of creating an opportunity for staff to come together and support their health and wellbeing through singing.

It is supported by Your RWTC, the registered charity of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, and is financially self-supporting.
