The Hive is a landmark building run in partnership between Worcestershire County Council and the University of Worcester. The Hive hosts not only an integrated public and University library service but also Worcestershire's Archive and Archaeology Service and the Worcestershire Hub, a one stop shop for enquiries on all County and District services. Featuring one of the biggest children's libraries

in the country (including an innovative outdoor 'Story Island') and The Cafe run by Bellrock's catering team, providing coffee, snacks and delicious cakes, The Hive is sure to attract locals and visitors alike. We have Lego club on Saturday from 10am to 11:30am, and our Rat-a-tat Tales story times at 11am and 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

📢Calling all aspiring children's authors!📢

✍️Writers' Day 2026: Writing for Children and Young Adults
🗓️Saturday 20 June, 9:30am - 3:30pm

Our annual Writers' Day is aimed at aspiring authors and includes a variety of talks, workshops and panel discussions to help you on your writing journey and the quest for publication. This year's event is focused on writing for children and young adults and we will be joined by the celebrated author, Petr Horacek alongside award winning writer, Liz Hyder and talented illustrator, Jess Mason.

The sessions will be very relaxed and everyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re working on a debut novel, designing an eye-catching graphic novel or just figuring out how to get started on your own unique idea for a picture book.

Join the University of Worcester’s School of Health and Wellbeing for a series of bitesize talks on topics including living well with dementia and tackling the mental health crisis. Sessions can be booked individually or for the whole event.

The team will also be hosting a marketplace event in the Atrium during the day.
