Last month we sent three boxes of Rutter Magnificat to a choir in Wales via their local library. We are not on Inter Library Loans so they went via the post office and Royal Mail.
Only two arrived. The post was tracked but all I could find out was that the parcel had been 'received'.
The post office knew nothing about it; we went to the sorting offices in Worcester and Birmingham and they could not help - told us to make a claim. no-one seemed interested in putting themselves out to find our books.
In the meantime we sent a fourth box to Wales Special Delivery, so at least the choir could start rehearsing. The cost was three times the original.
There are 29 books missing - to replace those used copies with new ones will cost around £450. When we made our claim we were told that the maximum amount we would be eligible for was £75.
What sort of a service is that.
