Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service Providing our communities with sustainable, high-quality firefighting, rescue and preventative service

We look after the counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire by providing a fire and rescue service. We have 25 fire stations based across the two counties and we have firefighters available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to 999 calls. However, we don’t just attend emergency calls - we also try to prevent fires and other emergency incidents before they happen. We hope that our page helps you to find out more about what our Service is involved in and how we make our cities, towns, villages and communities safer.

🔥🚒 Fire in the Open for us this afternoon in Drakes Broughton. Quick intervention from the crew stopped further fire spread alongside our colleagues from Worcester Fire Station & Water Carrier from Evesham Fire Station .
Crews will revisit the site later this evening to ensure no further hot spots have appeared due to wind conditions. 🚒🔥

HWFRS, West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are currently attending a serious incident on the A49 (North of Hereford City) at Dinmore Hill. The A49 is currently shut in both directions and it is likely that the road will be closed for some considerable time.
Please can we ask that you avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Business Owner Sentenced Following Serious Fire Safety Offences.

A Kidderminster business owner has been sentenced following a successful prosecution by Hereford & Worcester Fire Authority for serious breaches of fire safety legislation.
The Court heard that fire alarm systems had been deliberately tampered with, escape routes were compromised, and occupants were placed at significant risk. The Judge described the premises as a "death trap" and highlighted the extremely high risk to life.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service remains committed to protecting residents, workers and visitors from the risks posed by unsafe premises. Businesses and property owners have a legal responsibility to ensure that fire safety measures are in place and maintained.

Where serious risks to life are identified, the Service will not hesitate to take enforcement action to protect the public.
