Mini police, Fairfield school Cockermouth.
PCSO Clare has done a water safety talk to the mini police earlier.
The mini police learnt how to call for help and how to float in an emergency.
We discussed throwing float aids into the water, rather than put themselves at risk trying to save others.
The children now have an even better understanding of cold water, currents, survival techniques and to never swim alone. Always swim in places where there is lifeguards to assist if things go wrong.

We have had incidents reported in the Lake Road and Hope Park area of Keswick including vandalism, graffiti and criminal damage. We are also aware that these areas are seeing an increase in Anti Social Behaviour. In response to this officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out more patrols in the area across all hours with the hopes to engage with residents and businesses as well as deter and divert those who come to misbehave and cause damage. We'd like to thank our partner agencies and local businesses for bringing these concerns to our attention and working with us in the ongoing investigations.

🚨 Police Update – Licensing Breach in Workington 🚨

Officers recently attended a report of a large number of youths consuming alcohol at a licensed premises in Workington.
Following enquiries, it has been identified that the venue was operating in breach of its licensing conditions, particularly in relation to the supervision and control of alcohol sales to young people.
We understand the concerns this type of incident raises within our community. Ensuring the safety of young people and responsible management of licensed premises is a priority for us.
As a result, we will now be working closely with the local authority Licensing Team to take this matter forward to a formal licensing review.

👉 What this means:

- The premises will be subject to scrutiny regarding its compliance with licensing laws.

- A review may result in additional conditions, suspension, or revocation of the licence.

We will continue to take robust action where businesses fail to uphold their legal responsibilities.

We would also like to remind parents and guardians of the risks associated with underage drinking, and encourage open conversations with young people about staying safe.
If you have concerns about underage drinking or licensing issues in your area, please report them to us or your local council.

👮‍♂️ Together, we can help keep our communities safe.

👮‍♂️ Community visit in Aspatria 👮‍♀️

Neighbourhood officers, alongside Richmond Hill School Mini Police, attended Park Lodge Care Home to spend time with residents. It was fantastic to see different generations coming together, and the Mini Police were a credit to their school throughout the visit.

Aspatria Mayor Ray Gregory also attended to show his support for the Mini Police initiative – highlighting the importance of young people getting involved in their communities.

👏 A big thank you to everyone who took part!

Today PC Chris and PCSO Holly had a great time at St Herbert's Summer Fayre in Keswick. We've had the chance to speak to young people and adults alike about the different equipment officers have and when this equipment can be utilised. The young people seemed to really enjoy exploring the Police vehicle and learning about all the different situations that might mean someone needs our help and we've had some great conversations with the adults too. A big thanks to St Herbert's for inviting us along!
