Cllr Debbie Merryweather - Worksop East I am the Bassetlaw District Councillor for Worksop East Ward. I was elected in 2015.

I will always work hard to represent all the residents of my ward and keep the interests of all Bassetlaw residents whilst serving on my committees.

I have always been a Labour supporter and councillor until May when I went independent if I had not gone then I would have definitely gone now with what they have done to the pensioners, yes some could afford to lose the WFA but there are quite a lot who are just over the threshold so don't qualify for pension credits also the ones that are too proud to claim as they have worked all their life and never claimed benifits. There should have been a risk assessment to make sure the pensioners who are slightly over the amount to claim should have still been given the WFA I wonder who they will target next and it scares me . Please think about what you are doing our pensioners deserve to have a decent life on retirement we owe them that for all their hard work over the years.

Pensioners are the backbone of our Country don't take away their heating allowance and I hear their bus passes are the next to go PLEASE think about what you are doing find the money from somewhere else
