Discovery Day Nursery is a friendly and welcoming nursery situated in Worthing, West Sussex.

👩🍳👮♂️🦺 When I Grow Up…! 🚓🍳🏗️

It's been a busy and exciting week in our Preschool Room as we've been exploring the wonderful world of careers and jobs! 💛✨

Our preschoolers have been learning all about different roles in our community, with a special focus on chefs, construction workers and police officers! 👩🍳👮♀️👷 We've been discovering what these important people do, how they help others and the different skills they use every day! 🚓🍽️🚧

Learning about different careers is a fantastic way to spark imagination, encourage role play, build confidence and help our little ones develop an understanding of the world around them! 🌍💭

And of course, we haven't forgotten the most important job of all… being a kid! 🥰🌈

We've also been out exploring our local area, enjoying lovely trips to the park where we've had lots of opportunities to run, play, discover and enjoy the great outdoors! 🌳🍂🛝

After all, childhood is all about having fun, making memories, being curious and learning through play! 💕✨

🍂🍁 Autumn Adventures in the Baby & Toddler Room! 🍁🍂

We've been feeling so autumnal recently! 🎃🐿️🧡

The children have been busy exploring lots of exciting autumn-themed tuff trays and crafting filled with wonderful colours, textures and opportunities for sensory play! 🍃🍄🌰

We've also wrapped up warm and headed out on lovely walks to the park, looking for all the signs of autumn around us! 🍂🌳 From crunchy leaves on the ground to the beautiful changing colours of the trees, there's been so much for our curious little explorers to discover! 👀🍁

These experiences are a wonderful way to encourage curiosity, develop language skills, explore the natural world and support our toddlers' sensory development through hands-on learning! 🧡✨

We've had so much fun exploring, discovering and making lovely autumn memories together! 🥰🍂

🚜🐮 Singing on the Farm! 🐷🐥🌾🎶

Our babies have been enjoying lots of singing in the baby room, and today we've been singing one of our favourite tractor songs! 🚜🎵💛

Singing is something we love to do every single day! 🎶 It is such an important part of our daily routine, helping our little ones develop their early language and communication skills, build listening skills and explore rhythm and sounds. 🥰

Through familiar songs, actions and repetition, our babies are encouraged to join in with smiles, movements, babbles and lots of excitement! 👶🏼👏🏼💕

Singing also helps create lovely bonding moments and brings so much joy to our day! 🌈✨

🚜🐄 Beep beep! Off we go on our musical farm adventure! 🎶🌻

📖 Every day brings a new story.

Some begin with a favourite book, others with a walk to the library, a visit to the museum or a conversation sparked by something children have noticed on the beach.

🐠🪼🐙 🌊 We’ve been under the sea! 🌊 🐙🪼🐠

What a fin-tastic week we’ve had in our Baby Room! 🐟💙 Our little explorers have been diving into all things Under the Sea, with lots of messy, squishy and exciting sensory activities! 🐚🫧🐠

We’ve been busy exploring different textures, colours and sounds, getting stuck in and having lots of fun along the way! 😍

🌿☀️ We’ve also been making the most of our garden every day, enjoying the sunshine, fresh air and plenty of outdoor adventures!

✨ Our sensory room has been a big hit too, giving our little ones a lovely space to explore, investigate, relax and enjoy lots of sensory experiences.

🏖️🌊 And what better way to finish our Under the Sea adventures than with a trip to the park by the beach! We had so much fun exploring, enjoying the fresh sea air and making the most of our beautiful surroundings. 🥰

It’s been a week full of splashes, smiles, sensory play, sunshine and seaside adventures! 💙🐳

We wonder where our imaginations will take us next… 👀✨

🌿 Great outdoor spaces don't just encourage children to run around. They encourage them to slow down and notice.

The changing seasons. The sound of birds. A tiny insect making its way across a leaf.

At Discovery Day Nursery, time spent outdoors gives children the opportunity to observe, explore and connect with nature in meaningful ways, helping to develop curiosity, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

🌟 What a wonderful week in our Toddler & Preschool Room! 🌟

Today, we were very lucky to be specially invited to St Mary's Care Home for the opening of their brand-new lounge! 🥳

The children had such a lovely time celebrating with everyone. There were balloons 🎈, lots of dancing 💃🕺, plenty of smiles and even a few local celebrities making an appearance! ⭐ It was so special to see the children enjoying themselves and being part of such a lovely occasion.

The rest of our week has been just as busy! We’ve enjoyed lots of fun in the garden 🌿, playing games together, exploring, discovering and taking part in lots of learning through play. 🧩📚🎨

A big thank you to St Mary’s for inviting us to such a special celebration. We had a fantastic time and made some wonderful memories! ❤️

🌿🐒 Jungle Week in the Baby Room! 🐘🦜🌴

We’ve had a roarsome week exploring our jungle theme! 🐯🌿 Our little explorers have been loving all of our themed activities and getting stuck into lots of sensory fun. 💚

🐘 Elephant water trays – splashing, pouring and exploring! 💦
🦜 Parrot crafts – sticking colourful feathers and getting creative! 🎨🪶
🌳 Daily garden time – enjoying the fresh air, sunshine and plenty of outdoor adventures! 🌼☀️

One of our special highlights this week was taking a walk down to the beach! 🌊🏖️ The babies had a wonderful time exploring the sand, feeling the different textures and enjoying a change of scenery. 🥰👣

What a lovely week of exploring, discovering and making memories together! 💚🐾🌴
