Thank you to everyone who came along to our 25th Anniversary AGM last night at Maybridge Keystone Centre. It was fantastic to see so many of you, representing groups from the past, present - and future - of WCC funding. We're so proud of having played just a little part in the origin story of so many incredible organisations that do so much for and beyond.

And thank you to the groups that couldn't join us but sent us lovely messages of thanks and support. We will be posting some of these in the coming days. They are not only a great boost to us as an organisation, but will hopefully give confidence to people to come and have a chat with us about funding for their projects.

We were delighted to welcome the family of our beloved and much-missed colleague Malcolm Brett as we paid tribute to him for all he did over 13 years as a trustee for Worthing Community Chest, and for the wider community. We held the inaugural presentation of a new award in his honour, which was presented to Radio Worthing by Malcolm's family. Community radio was very close to Malcolm's heart and we felt that this was the perfect choice. Radio Worthing will receive £200 in addition to their recent Grants for Growth award.

It was an amazing networking event as well, creating new connections for people to share skills, ideas, resources and experience. Special thanks to Jeanette from Tommy's Community Kitchen and Bakery who baked our delicious celebration cakes.

Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone who has supported Worthing Community Chest over 25 years of grant-giving in our community. Over the years, more than fifty people have supported us as trustees and we thank every one of them for the work they have done. Without trustees Worthing Community Chest could not continue as the amazing organisation that it is, providing grass-roots funding support for Worthing projects. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved in keeping it running well into the future. Take a look at our website or give us a call to find out what's involved.

To all the current and past trustees, employees, volunteers, donors, recyclers, Appraisal Panellists, to anyone who's talked to their network about us, played our lottery, put us in their will, put change in our buckets or played our treasure hunt games at our event stalls. We love you all!

Here's to the next 25 years!

We have been privileged to support Between the Blue and Green Film Festival in past years with grant funding and it's been fantasitc to see it become a firm favourite in the Worthing events calendar.

This year's festival will feature the UK premier of a very significant and hard-hitting documentary showing the difference that open communication can make in bringing very different groups in a community together to bring about change. The second documentary of the evening highlights nature and wellbeing. We feel that these subjects will be of interest to many in our network, so please go along and support this event.

Worthing Community Chest is Worthing's very own community grant-making charity. Today we are proud to celebrate our 25th Anniversary!

Since 2001 we have awarded over half a million pounds to hundreds of projects and events run by volunteers in our town.

We use money raised from textile recycling banks around our town to make grants to community groups, projects and events that benefit the Worthing Community and make it the fantastic place it is to live. Visit our website to see some of the inspiring groups we've supported and find out how to apply for a grant to get your own ideas up and running.

Worthing is full of wonderful people doing incredible things, so please support them, support us and get involved!

Between the Blue and Green Film Festival held a litter pick at Windsor Lawns on Friday, in partnership with Adur & Worthing Councils, in preparation for their Sea2Shore - Worthing Seafood Festival - Worthing’s vibrant annual celebration of seafood, community, and coastal life.

As one of 's previously grant-funded groups, we went along to help Between the Blue and Green's Nicola Instone get Windsor Lawns clean, tidy and looking lovely. The Council's Neighbourhood Team, Gwen and Michelle, did an incredible job, as did members of the public who turned out to help, on one of the hottest days of the year so far.

The table-tennis table, picnic benches and other equipment were scrubbed clean and the beach, fishing locker areas, and lawns tidied and cleared of litter. The Sea2Shore Festival is on Windsor Lawns on 12th July - see you there!
