TUESDAY 16th JUNE 2026 7pm at Under The Edge Arts The Chipping. Fabulous walk and talk about these unique and vulnerable birds and Wotton's new Swift Project in which you can take part 😍
https://www.swiftmapper.org.uk/

They're back!
Every summer, swifts travel thousands of miles from Africa to return to Wotton - and they're among the most extraordinary birds on Earth.

Join local swift champion Mark Pasco on Tuesday 16th June to discover the amazing life of the swift: the bird that sleeps, feeds and even mates on the wing.

7:00pm – Short walk to spot nest sites and (hopefully) see swifts in action
7:30pm – Illustrated talk with stunning images, fascinating facts, poetry and Q&A

Free entry and the bar will be open.

Thank you Hazel and Colin for all your hard work over the years and being part of the fabulous variety of the independent shops that makes Wotton town special. Wright Connections Electrical and Lighting will be greatly missed.
Good luck to you both and a very happy much deserved retirement πŸ€

After more than 17 years, Colin and Hazel Wright have decided it's time to retire from Wright Connections Electrical & Lighting.

Since opening in April 2009, we've traded from four different premises in Wotton-Under-Edge town centre and have been proud to serve Wotton and the surrounding area. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for your support, loyalty and friendship over the years.

Our Retirement Sale started on 1st June, with:

πŸŽ‰ 25% OFF EVERYTHING EXCEPT REPAIRS & PAT TESTING πŸŽ‰

Many people have asked when we'll be closing. The honest answer is that we don't have a fixed date yet. Colin is due to have heart bypass surgery later this year, and until we know when that will be, it's difficult to put a firm timetable on our final closing plans.

What we do know is that retirement is definitely happening, and we'd much rather see our stock go to customers than have to find room for it all at home! So if you're looking for lighting, lamps, shades, electrical accessories, vacuum bags, small appliances or just a bargain, we'd love to see you.

And don't worry – Colin isn't disappearing completely. Once retired, he hopes to continue carrying out repairs from home.

Thank you for being part of our journey since 2009. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces over the coming months.

With heartfelt thanks,

**Colin & Hazel Wright**
