🌿🚮 What an amazing week so far! 🚮🌿

The Stay on Side litter pickers have been out in force this week and have collected all these bags of rubbish from around our community. It's fantastic to see such dedication from local volunteers who care about keeping our area clean and tidy.

Sadly, people still need to stop dropping litter and take more pride in our community. Cefn Mawr and all the adjoining areas are wonderful places to live, work, and visit, and we all have a responsibility to help keep them looking their best.

A massive thank you to every member of the stay on side litter-picking team for their hard work and commitment. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and you are making a real difference to our environment and community.

Today's litter pick was another successful one, with even more rubbish removed from our streets, paths, and green spaces. Let's continue working together to keep Cefn Mawr and the surrounding villages clean and litter-free.

♻️ Please use the bins provided or take your litter home. Every small action helps. ♻️

💚 Thank you to everyone who supports our community and helps make it a better place for all.

We had another lovely morning at George Edwards Hall yesterday for our Chat and Chill Coffee Morning. Everyone enjoyed a game of bingo and cards while catching up with friends in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Attendees were treated to a delicious bacon bap along with unlimited tea and coffee, giving everyone the chance to relax, chat, and enjoy each other's company.

It was great to see so many smiling faces and people having fun together. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the morning such a success. We look forward to seeing you all again at the next coffee morning!

The UEFA Under-19 Championship is coming to Wales for the very first time

From 28 June to 11 July, eight European national teams will compete across North Wales in the 23rd edition of the tournament, which also acts as the official qualifying path for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

It’s a huge moment for Welsh football, made even more special as the Football Association of Wales celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

And Wrexham will be right at the heart of it. Wrexham AFC’s Cae Ras (Racecourse Ground) will host all of Wales’ group matches, a semi-final and the final, bringing some of Europe’s most exciting young players to one of the country’s most iconic football grounds.

For Wrecsam2029: Wrexham's bid for UK City of Culture 2029, moments like this matter. Football is a huge part of Wrexham’s identity. It brings people together, fills the city with pride and shows how culture lives in the places, stories and shared experiences that shape us.

⚽🏫 Community Facilities for Everyone 🏫⚽
It was fantastic to see our local school Ysgol Min Y Ddol making use of the football field with a match against Ysgol Cynddelw.

The field is a valued community asset, and we are proud that it provides opportunities for people of all ages to take part in sport, recreation, and healthy activities. While it is regularly used by local football teams, it is equally important that schools, community groups, can benefit from this fantastic facility.

Seeing young people enjoying the pitch, developing their skills, and representing their school highlights exactly why community facilities like this are so important. They help bring people together, encourage active lifestyles, and create opportunities for everyone to get involved.

Cefn Community Council remains committed to supporting facilities that benefit the whole community and ensuring they continue to be enjoyed by current and future generations.
Well done to all the pupils who took part and thank you to everyone who helps keep our community facilities thriving. 👏💚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined this morning’s Cefn Community Council Monthly Litter Pick around Acrefair.

We were joined by our friends from Tesco Cefn Mawr, the incredibly inspiring Cefn Litter Pickers volunteer Jacqueline Palmer, Cllr Phil Vaughan and our wonderful volunteer Barbara Lloyd and Clerk, Trina Nicholls-Smith. 💚

Together, the team collected six bags of litter from around Acrefair while also taking the opportunity to engage with local residents and promote the importance of keeping our community clean, safe, and something we can all be proud of. 👏

Jacqueline continues to be a true community champion, dedicating so much of her own time to improving the local area and leading by example through the fantastic work of the Cefn Litter Pickers. 🌟

This project is proudly supported by Keep Wales Tidy - North East Wales. 🧹💚

It promises to be a great day out, and we'd love to fill the remaining seats.
