Lets talk about Repairs… 🛠️

What is classed as an emergency repair?

It is important that you know what is classed as an emergency repair…
These repairs will be completed within 24 hours of the repair being reported, or the same day if possible. We will not pre-inspect them. They are generally for situations where there is a danger to health or a risk to the safety of the occupant or danger of serious damage to the property.

Examples are:
• complete loss of electricity supply
• burst pipes / flood
• fire
• blocked toilet (if it is the only one in property)
• blocked / overflowing drains
• complete central heating system failure (October - April)
• locked out of property (re-charge may apply)
• make safe broken window/door glass.
Sometimes, we can only carry out a temporary repair to make sure that the situation is made safe and secure.

We will arrange a follow-on appointment (where necessary) to complete the repair. We would ask that when you have reported an emergency repair, please stay at the property to allow us access, and let us know as early as possible if there is a time that is not suitable for you.

You may have recently received a letter or email about the Renters’ Rights Act. The Welsh Government has added new rules in legislation which say that when we allocate our houses:

• We cannot discriminate against anyone who receives benefits.
• We cannot discriminate against allowing you to have someone under 18 live with you or visit your home.

These updates have now been added to your occupation contract (tenancy agreement). This isn’t a change to how we operate currently but we are legally required to inform you about it.
There’s nothing you need to do, and there is no cause for concern. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office 01978298993.

Bin collections for the rest of this week (May 27-29) 👇 👇

Extremely high temperatures have been forecast over the next few days, so we’ll be starting our bin collections a little early to help our crews avoid the hottest part of the day.

Please put out your bins or recycling early (ideally the night before), so everything is ready for collection by 6am.

Thank you for your help – it’s much appreciated by our crews.

We have had a lot of calls today about entry doors swelling in the heat. Before calling repairs, try washing the doors with cold water to reduce swelling. After half an hour, if they are still swollen, please call repairs on 01978298993

It’s set to be a warm one this weekend! ☀️

We know it’s a bit of a rare occasion here in Wales and you’ll want to enjoy it, so here are some simple ways to stay safe in the heat 👇

🌳 Take regular breaks in the shade
💧 Keep hydrated throughout the day
🌊 Be aware that open water may look inviting, but it’s still very cold
❤️ Look out for friends, family and neighbours
🧴 And don’t forget your sunscreen!
