Gwenfro Valley Integrated Children’s Centre is an open access adventure playground which is registered with the CSSIW to work with children aged 5 and over. Children under 5 are more than welcome if they are accompanied and supervised by a responsible person. The site attracts an average of 50+ children and all activities are free, although there is usually a small charge for trips. The registrati
on form attached must be dated, filled in and signed by a parent or guardian and brought back to us. This means we will be more aware of your child’s requirements and able to contact you in case of an emergency. Activities on the playground are carried out in English and include art and craft, den building, a fire, sand and water play as well as other types of play. Due to some of the activities being messy we advise children to wear old clothes and do not allow children to wear school uniforms on site. Activities on the playground vary depending on what children want to do. Children with specific requirements are welcome to attend the playground but if you have any concerns about whether the playground is suitable to meet your child/young person’s needs, please contact us and we will try our best to address them. If you have any reason to complain about any aspect of the service we offer then feel free to contact the manager of the playground who will follow the Gwenfro Valley Grievance Policy. Copies of this policy and all others can be requested from the Gwenfro Valley ICC. If you are unhappy with the way your complaint has been handled you may also contact the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales (see staff for details). The staff are friendly and have experience of working with children and are all trained in First Aid and Child Protection. There is a minimum of two staff on duty during opening hours.
