A fantastic day today at the Urdd Eisteddfod representing Foster Wales 💜

Taylor and Alex manned the stall alongside our colleagues Lisa from Foster Wales Gwynedd and Jess from Foster Wales Conwy. We had so many lovely conversations throughout the day about fostering, handed out lots of goodies, and met so many families and young people visiting the event.

It was brilliant to see so much interest in fostering and to have the opportunity to talk about the difference local authority foster carers can make for children and young people across Wales 🏡✨

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us today!

Diwrnod gwych heddiw yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd yn cynrychioli Maethu Cymru 💜

Taylor ac Alex oedd yn gweithio ar stondin Maethu Cymru ochr yn ochr â'n cydweithwyr Lisa o Maethu Cymru Gwynedd a Jess o Maethu Cymru Conwy. Cawsom gymaint o sgyrsiau hyfryd drwy gydol y dydd am faethu, rhannu llawer o bethau da, a chwrdd â chymaint o deuluoedd a phobl ifanc yn ymweld â'r digwyddiad.

Roedd yn wych gweld cymaint o ddiddordeb mewn maethu a chael y cyfle i siarad am y gwahaniaeth y gall gofalwyr maeth awdurdodau lleol ei wneud i blant a phobl ifanc ledled Cymru 🏡✨

Diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb a alwodd heibio i sgwrsio gyda ni heddiw!

🏡💜 “Champion fostering is about giving children the stability, support and therapeutic care they need to thrive.”

As part of this year’s Foster Care Fortnight campaign, themed “This Is Fostering”, we’re sharing the stories behind the different types of fostering and hearing directly from the foster carers who provide them.

In our latest blog, one Foster Wales Wrexham couple share their experience of Champion fostering, supporting children with more complex needs through a specialist, relationship-based approach that helps young people step down from residential care into a family home.

Read their story here:

🏡💜 “Mae maethu medrus yn ymwneud â rhoi’r sefydlogrwydd, y gefnogaeth a’r gofal therapiwtig sydd eu hangen ar blant i ffynnu.”

Fel rhan o ymgyrch Wythnos Gofal Maeth eleni, gyda’r thema “Dyma Faethu”, rydym yn rhannu straeon am y gwahanol fathau o faethu ac yn clywed yn uniongyrchol gan y gofalwyr maeth sy’n eu darparu.

Yn ein blog diweddaraf, mae un cwpl o Faethu Cymru Wrecsam yn rhannu eu profiad o faethu medrus — cefnogi plant ag anghenion mwy cymhleth drwy ddull arbenigol sy’n canolbwyntio ar berthnasoedd ac yn helpu pobl ifanc i symud o ofal preswyl i gartref teuluol.

☕💜 We have had a lovely day at our Cuppa with a Carer information drop-in session today at Acton Resource Centre!

It was great to welcome so many people interested in fostering to come along, have a chat with the Foster Wales Wrexham team and speak directly with our foster carers about their experiences of fostering 🏡

These informal sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions, hear real stories and find out more about the difference fostering can make for local children and young people.

We were also pleased to be joined by our Lead Member for Children’s Services, Councillor Robert Walsh, who came along to support the event and speak with carers and staff.

Thank you to everyone who came along to talk to us today 💜

Roedd yn wych croesawu cymaint o bobl sydd â diddordeb mewn maethu i ddod draw, cael sgwrs gyda thîm Maethu Cymru Wrecsam a siarad yn uniongyrchol â'n gofalwyr maeth am eu profiadau o faethu 🏡

Mae'r sesiynau anffurfiol hyn yn gyfle gwych i ofyn cwestiynau, clywed straeon go iawn a darganfod mwy am y gwahaniaeth y gall maethu ei wneud i blant a phobl ifanc lleol.

Roeddem hefyd yn falch o gael ein hymuno gan ein Haelod Arweiniol dros Wasanaethau Plant, y Cynghorydd Robert Walsh, a ddaeth draw i gefnogi'r digwyddiad a siarad â gofalwyr a staff.

Diolch i bawb a ddaeth draw i siarad â ni heddiw 💜
