A powerful reminder that a diagnosis doesn’t define a person…

This moving piece from This Morning shares the stories of “dementia rebels”; people who are choosing to live fully, challenge perceptions, and continue being themselves beyond their diagnosis.

It’s inspiring, honest, and a real call to shift how we think about dementia – from limitation to possibility.

At the Rainbow Foundation, this is exactly what we believe. Our dementia support is built around the person, not the diagnosis, recognising that everyone’s experience is unique. We take a compassionate, person‑centred and relationship‑focused approach, supporting people to maintain dignity, independence and connection for as long as possible.

We work alongside individuals, families and carers to:
✨ promote confidence, identity and wellbeing
✨ reduce distress, anxiety and isolation
✨ support meaningful activity and community connection
✨ provide practical guidance and emotional support for carers
✨ understand behaviour as communication and responding with empathy

With specialist support from our in‑house Dementia and Frailty Ambassador, we’re able to offer tailored, dementia‑informed care that helps people stay valued members of their communities.
Stories like these remind us why this work matters so much.

'Dementia Rebels' Julie and Gail were both diagnosed with dementia in their 50s and 60s but want to challenge the stigma around the illness.

We had some very special visitors at our Penley hub today 🐾💛

To celebrate Bring Your Dog to Work Day, some of our team brought their dogs along to spend time with our clients and they were a big hit!

Playing in the garden with lots of fuss, the visits brought plenty of smiles. It’s amazing how much joy animals can bring.

Moments like this are what it’s all about; connection, companionship, and a little something to brighten the day.

Days like this are part of the warm, welcoming atmosphere we try to create every day at Rainbow. If you would like to come along for a taster day to experience it for yourself, please reach out to our Day Opportunities Manager Eden on 01948 830730 or via email at [email protected]

Getting out and about isn’t always easy for Brenda, as steps at home can make it difficult to leave the house. That’s why spending time in our fully accessible heritage garden during our Day Opportunities service means so much.

Brenda says she loves being able to get outside.

Moments like these are what it’s all about: fresh air, connection, and a chance to enjoy the little things.
