Can you lend a hand this Thursday?

We’re looking for some support to help a few of our clients from Overton and Ruabon who usually attend our Penley Lunch Club but are currently unable to get there due to transport difficulties.

If you’re able to spare a couple of hours to help them attend the Lunch Club (12pm–2pm), it would make a huge difference.

As a thank you, you’re very welcome to stay and enjoy a delicious two-course meal with us on the day. 💜

If you can help, please get in touch on 01948 830730 or email [email protected].

Thank you so much for your support!

💜 Volunteers’ Week Spotlight: Andy’s Story 💜

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re proud to celebrate people like Andy whose journey with the Rainbow Foundation shows the true power of community, kindness and giving back.

Andy was first supported by Rainbow through our bereavement services after the sudden loss of his son, Kriss. During an incredibly difficult time, he found support when he needed it most. Today, Andy not only volunteers regularly at our Lunch Club, helping others feel welcome and connected, but he’s also going the extra mile (literally!) to give back.

This August, Andy will be taking on an incredible challenge — a scooter ride from Wrexham to Land’s End and back — in memory of his son and to raise vital funds for our services.

In Andy’s words:
"Without the support from Rainbow, I’m not sure I could have coped… I decided to give something back as a thank you. I know a lot of people who are suffering and need that little bit of support that Rainbow gives. So please help me make a difference."

Andy’s story is a reminder that volunteering is about more than giving your time, it’s about turning lived experience into hope for others.

💜 Thank you, Andy, for everything you do.
💜 And thank you to all our volunteers making a difference every single day.

If you’d like to support Andy’s challenge, please visit his JustGiving page using the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/page/kriss-wood-rainbow

Parkrun Takeover!!

As part of Age Without Limits, which starts next week we’re shining a light on the incredible things older people in Wrexham do every day — moving, creating, singing, connecting, volunteering and leading. It’s a celebration of ageing and a challenge to ageism, and we’d love you to be part of it.

On Saturday 6th June, we’re taking over Erddig parkrun, and we’re looking for anyone who can help us make the morning extra special.

Whether you’d like to join the park run by running or walking the 5k or if you can spare some time to marshal, or simply cheer people along, there’s a role for everyone.

- Saturday 6th June
- Erddig parkrun
- 9am race start

If you’d like to take part of our take over as a runner, walker or volunteer, simply email us at [email protected].

We'd love to see you there and help us launch an incredible week of celebrating ageing without limits.

💜 Volunteers’ Week | Thank You for Making a Difference 💜

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, energy and kindness to support others in our community.

Volunteering is more than just giving your time, it’s about connection, purpose and belonging. It’s a chance to meet new people, build confidence, share your skills and make a real difference in someone’s life.

At the Rainbow Foundation, our volunteers support people who may feel isolated, unheard or unsure where to turn.

✨ They help people feel safe, valued and supported
✨ They create small moments that mean everything
✨ They help build a fairer, kinder community

So, to every volunteer, past and present: thank you. You make a real difference every single day. 💜
