The Welsh Government would like to understand the experience of parents/ carers looking for information about their children’s online safety.

The ‘Keeping safe online’ area on Hwb provides information, guidance and resources to help families to keep children and young people safe online.

opportunities for children and young people aged 5 to 16 who are living with:
• Physical impairments
• Learning difficulties
• Sensory impairments
• Mental health challenges
We offer Fun and Engaging Activities which are free or discounted for a duration of time in school terms, including:
• Swimming
• Football
• Multi-Sports
• Junior Gym
• Cricket
• Gymnastics
These sessions are held at Leisure Centres and Sports Settings across Wrexham.
Across school holidays periods, we also offer Holiday Clubs and taster sessions to our Active Referrals.

Choosing the right NHS service for minor injuries and illnesses means you will get the care you need as quickly as possible, whilst helping to keep urgent services available to those who need them for the most serious illnesses and injuries.
Many minor illnesses and injuries can be treated by your local pharmacy or Minor Injury Unit.
If you are unsure which local health service you should choose based on your symptoms, the NHS 111 Wales service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offers guidance and care for non-emergency urgent medical problems.

Secondary School Admissions

Please be advised that applications for secondary school places for the September 2027 intake are now open.

The closing date for receipt of on-time applications is 31 October 2026.

Late applications are processed after those received on time, so it is important you submit your application by the closing date – 31 October 2026.

It is strongly recommended that you list more than one preference when making your application. Listing only one school, or listing the same school multiple times, does not result in a better chance of being offered that school. However, if you list only one preference and this is unsuccessful, any new preferences that you add after the closing date will be ‘late’ applications.

Open evenings
Our secondary schools will be holding their open evenings in the coming weeks. If you’re looking at options, they can be a great opportunity for both parents, guardians and children to visit schools to get an idea of what they are like. The dates for all school open evenings are available on our website.

Applying for a school outside of Wrexham
If you live in Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire or Shropshire you must apply to your home local authority, even if the school you are applying to is over the border. These local authorities have a co-ordinated admissions arrangement.

This means that when a Wrexham resident submits an application to Wrexham's admissions team, if the application lists a preference for a school in one of these three counties (for example, Ysgol Castell Alun in Flintshire, Ysgol Dinas Bran in Denbighshire, St. Martins in Shropshire) we will send your application to the correct admitting authority. You do not need to make separate applications to these local authorities.

You should only apply to the authority where you live and add all school preferences to this one application.

Apply for Funded Early Education
Please be advised that the applications for Funded Early Education places for the January 2027 intake are now open.
Children born between 01/09/2023 and 31/12/2023 are eligible to apply for a place for January 2027.
Late applications are processed after those received on time, so it is important you submit your application by the closing date – 23 October 2026.
Securing a place in an early education setting for spring or summer term does not guarantee you a place at the same setting for the Nursery class which starts in September. You should make a separate application for the Nursery class, and these applications are processed in line with our admissions policy.
