This Friday we had the privilege of hosting a truly special celebration for Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust and the incredible volunteers who make their work possible.
To mark a remarkable triple anniversary — 70 years of the Trust, 50 years of Rutland Water Nature Reserve and 30 years of the return of the Rutland Ospreys — we welcomed 135 volunteers to Wymondham Windmill and served 135 freshly prepared afternoon teas.
It was an event that felt particularly close to our hearts. As a heritage destination surrounded by countryside, we understand the importance of protecting the landscapes, wildlife and habitats that make our corner of Leicestershire so special.
To every volunteer in the room: thank you. Your dedication, passion and countless hours of work continue to make a lasting difference for future generations.
