Jackie's Friday Film Review
SPEED

Speed incredibly celebrated its 30th anniversary two years ago, and it's fair to say that time has been kind to it- it is still a very smart, sassy and exciting watch.

Keanu Reeves stars as a member of the Los Angeles bomb squad tasked with rescuing a dire situation when a crazed bomber (Dennis Hopper) rigs an ordinary LA transit bus to detonate if it exceeds 50mph. Reeves manages to leap on board after the driver is shot and, with the help of another passenger (Sandra Bullock) who grabs the wheel, faces a hair-raising ride in rush hour traffic with terrified passengers aplenty.

Reeves and Bullock have great chemistry and the stunt thrills and spills just keep coming. So, if you 'feel the need for speed' this movie will not disappoint! 😍

The Library

Now all is silence
I sit with this view
Of Towers and fields
The homes of a few.

Birds fly along
From roof to tree
Flew from far places
And ones I may see.

This is a sanctuary
Of Literature and facts
Of drama and music
And all of its acts.

The library is busy
When children come by
A place of enchantment
Imaginations can fly.

Please keep this area
For generation to come
So they can read
And have some fun.
