Thank you for your support for the Hull Road Lib Dem Focus team.

Due to changes to ward boundaries announced on 29th September we will no longer be posting on this page. Instead we have a brand new page for the Heslington & University ward which will elect 2 councillors for the first time in May 2027. Why not pop on over and follow our new page: Heslington & University Liberal Democrats

Sir Kevin Sinfield has just been through Badger Hill on his 7 in 7 grand finale raising funds for MND charities. There was a great turn out to support him and his team. If you want to donate go to: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/7-in-7-the-grand-finale

Badger Hill Field - Grass needs cutting

15/09/2026

We reported the overflowing waste bin by the bus stop on Tang Hall Lane this morning.
Thanks the the council team who emptied it within an hour. 😀

Thanks to the local residents who contacted us about the hedge along Field Lane between the traffic lights and Heslington church. The hedge has started to spread out and make it difficult for pedestrians to pass each other without stepping in to the road.
We've been in touch with the University and they will be arranging to cut back the hedge next week.
Let us know if you see any other issues like this that need dealing with.

This week we have been out removing graffiti across the ward. This picture shows Andrew cleaning the utility station on Thief Lane. We have also been in Hull Road Park cleaning up the light columns.
If you see any graffiti that needs dealing with please let us know.

Take care in Heslington. Roads and pavements are flooded and manholecovers have lifted due to the heavy rain.

Please take care if you use the bus shelter on Tang Hall Lane close to the Doctor's surgery at the junction with Millfield Lane.

A large piece of metal has been broken off and exposed a sharp edge. We have covered it with tape and reported it to the council for urgent action.

We're delighted to welcome our brand-new buses to the X46 & X47! 🎉

Over the next week, the new fleet will be fully rolled out, bringing more seats, USB-A & USB-C charging, next stop announcements and a fresh new look.

As part of the change, the cycle storage areas will no longer be available. You can read more about why, and discover all the new features, here: https://ow.ly/N7NA50ZxlJy
