Wow, Boroughbridge! We've had a fantastic turnout this year with 162 children signing up to read over the school holidays. That's 27 more than last year!

Even better news? 28 of our brilliant young readers have already crossed the finish line and completed the whole challenge! 🙌🎉

But the music isn't over yet! 🎶 If your child is still working through their six library books, there is still 3 weeks left to turn those pages.

Parents, let’s help the remaining readers finish strong before the new term starts. Every book, comic, or audiobook counts! Head into the Library to check in, get those final stickers, and celebrate their success. 🏅❤️

Let's get that completion number even higher!

🤠 YE-HA! Dust off your boots, Boroughbridge! 🤠

The Friends of Boroughbridge Library invite you to a spectacular COUNTRY HO-DOWN! 🎉

Whether you are a seasoned pro or have never line-danced before, this night is for you. The lively BOOT SCOOT crew will be there to show us all the moves. Every single dance is completely suitable for beginners—absolutely no experience is needed! Just come along, let loose, and have fun.

📅 Date: Saturday, 17th October; 7pm - 10pm at Coronation Hall, Milby

Our "Meet the Author" event last June, with local author, Dr Sudip Bhadury, was a massive success, with incredible support from our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us to hear about he set upon his journey to create his gripping medical thriller, "Code Blue: Diagnosis Deception"!🔥

The UK and Ireland will get to see a pretty good partial solar eclipse on 12 August 2026. This will be a very deep partial eclipse, meaning the vast majority of the Sun will be covered by the Moon.

This is an early evening eclipse for the UK and Ireland, where observers will see the Moon begin to pass in front of the Sun at around 18:15, local time, with maximum eclipse occurring about an hour later and the event ending shortly after 20:00.

We have some sun safe glasses left over from last year's event that we are happy to give away on a 'first come, first served' basis. They will be available from Monday, so If you would like a pair, please pop in next week and speak to one of our friendly volunteers.
