York after hours 🌙

When the crowds disappear, The Shambles takes on a completely different character. Medieval buildings, warm shop lights and one very quiet York night.

A street built to last centuries. ❤️

No two walks through Shambles ever feel quite the same. Sometimes it’s bustling with visitors, other times it’s just the sound of footsteps echoing across rain-soaked cobbles.

Although it looks frozen in time, almost every building has been altered, repaired or extended over hundreds of years. Each generation left its own mark while preserving the character that makes this street one of York’s most recognisable places today.

That’s one of York’s greatest strengths – history isn’t locked behind glass here. It’s still part of everyday life.

The Way Into the Quire

One of York Minster’s most striking interior views, leading through to the Quire and the Archbishop’s throne. Every line draws the eye further in.

A Different Look for the Stray 🌿🌼

Not the usual view of Monk Stray. For a brief spell, the reseeded stretch turned into a wildflower patch full of oxeye daisies, yellow blooms and cornflowers before being mown down again.

A Riverside York Afternoon 🍻

Clouds above, pubs below, and the Ouse carrying the whole scene. Hard to beat this view on a bright, breezy day.
