We are looking for volunteers with lived parenting experience who are interested in supporting and delivering the Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a unique, evidence-based parenting programme that is designed by parents and delivered by parents.
Volunteering offers many benefits, including:

Making a positive difference to local families

Early experiences have a profound effect on a child's development, their relationships, emotional regulation, and behaviour. This accessible session provides an introduction to trauma and attachment difficulties, looking at effects these can have on the brain and body. We will explore event-based and relationship-based trauma, attachment styles, and common misconceptions about attachment.

Rather than focusing on what is "wrong", we focus on how to respond with empathy, consistency, and understanding. The session introduces practical ways to:

Identify triggers that may cause distress
Listen and help children feel safe and supported
Create predictable routines that offer security
Nurture self-esteem and recognise small steps forward
Care for yourself while supporting others
Recognise when appropriate specialist support is needed
Who is this for? This workshop is designed for any adult supporting children or young people. No prior expertise or qualifications are required.
