August Governance Report — now live for members
A month ago we launched the Governance Report: a monthly, plain-English assessment of how York City FC and its shareholders are meeting the commitments made in the Club's Articles of Association and the All Shareholders Agreement. Eighteen areas, seven sections, each one tied to a specific clause.
The August edition is now in the members' area, and it's the first one that can show movement. Every area carries a mark showing whether it has improved, got worse, or stayed the same since July, and each section carries the same at a glance.
Some things have improved this month, and the report says so plainly — we'd rather record progress than only record problems. Others haven't moved, and the report says that too, along with what the Trust has asked for and when we expect an answer.
We report on ourselves on the same basis. The Trust's own governance is one of the seven sections, and it isn't all green either.
It stays a members' report, because as a shareholder we see confidential information about the Club, and reporting frankly to the people we represent is a different thing from broadcasting to the world.
