As part of our 4x4 Off-Road Response Instructor course we also offer a winch instructor course to assist with self recovery and for other tasks such as the movement of trees after storm damage.

Cyprus SBA Police Complete VIP Es**rt Instructor Course.
The purpose of ERDT’s VIP es**rt foundation level Instructors course Internationally Accredited by SFJ Awards (Skills for Justic) is to provide the knowledge and skill required to Instruct safely es**rt VIP’s.
Pre-Course Requirements. Learners must have completed a SFJ Awards emergency response driver/rider initial or re-assessment Instructors course within 3 years prior to attending the course.

Course Duration and Number of Delegates: Maximum of 3 Delegates, 24 hours plus 8 hours per class of vehicle.

Vehicle Classes:

1. Roads Used- The training will take place on a variety of roads including: -
a. Urban, Rural and Single Multi-lane Carriageways (If available).
2. Types and Purpose of Es**rt
3. Roles and Responsibilities of VIP Es**rt Personnel, Es**rt Vehicles, and other members of the es**rt: -
a. Personal Protection Officer (PPO)
b. Lead and Additional Protection Officer
c. Venue, Advance Officer and Reconnaissance Vehicle
4. Hazard negotiation
a. Junctions, Roundabouts and Slip Roads
b. Automated Traffic Signals (ATS) and Pedestrian Crossings
c. Tunnels, Road Works, One-way streets and Pinch Points
5. Route Planning
6. Procedure in the event of a collision
7. Procedure for interference from third party
8. Principle of VIP Es**rting
a. Terminology and Effective Communication
b. Pickup and Set Down techniques.
c. Controlling other road users at Hazards.
d. Managing Hazards and How to pass other road users & es**rt safely.
e. Use of Arm Signals to control other road users.
f. Entry and Exiting Multi-lane Carriageways (If available)
g. Audible warnings

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Driver Trainers Complete ERDT’s 4x4 Off Road Response Training (4x4-ORRT) & Winch Instructor Course Accredited by SFJ Awards.

The 4x4 Off Road Response Training (4x4-ORRT) Instructors course is designed for Emergency Services and supporting organisation Instructors that are required Instruct drivers to respond to incidents off-road.

The training is designed with the Emergency Services for the Emergency Service and is delivered by ex-Emergency Services 4x4 Instructors who understand your role.

Additionally, the NYFRS Instructors completed the winch operator Instructor unit.

The aim of the 4x4 Off Road Response Training (4x4-ORRT) is to provide the skills required to respond to an incident off-road and to comply with the following regulations and requirements:

· Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
· Service Off-Road driving policies and procedures.
Initial and Re-Certification Course Duration. Maximum of 2 Learners

4x4 Off Road Response Training (4x4-ORRT)
Guided Learning (GL) 1 Day (8 hrs)
Additional optional unit - 4x4 Off Road Response Instructor:
Guided Learning (GL) 3 Days (24 hrs)

The 4x4 Off Road Response Training (4x4-ORRT) is designed for Emergency Services and supporting organisation that are required to respond to incidents off-road.

Malta Civil Protection Department (CPD) complete the first of two Emergency Response Driving Instructors course Internationally Accredited by SFJ Awards.

The Emergency Response Driving Instructor (International) (ERDI-INT) course is designed for British Crown dependencies, British Overseas Territories and International Emergency Services, it provides the skills, knowledge and understanding required to deliver initial or re-certification training and assessments. The training is based on the UK Police system of vehicle control (“Roadcraft”) The Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) Instructional skills and relevant road traffic laws, regulations, National and International guidance regarding emergency response driving.
