Do you want to inspire a high-performing team and play a leading role in delivering outstanding sporting experiences? As Operations Manager, you will serve as the day-to-day operational lead across our multi-use sports facilities (with a particular focus on York Sport Village) ensuring top-tier standards of safety, pool plant management, cleanliness, and customer service.

What you’ll be responsible for:
Leading day-to-day operations and team development across our premier sports facilities.
Overseeing wet-side pool operations, plant management, and health & safety compliance (SOPs, EAPs, Risk Assessments).
Line managing, coaching, and motivating operational staff to foster a positive, high-performing culture.
Championing a customer-first environment for students, community members, and elite athletes.

About You:
Proven operational management experience in a complex leisure, sports, or multi-use facility environment.
Strong knowledge of health & safety compliance and pool plant management.
A confident leader skilled at managing competing priorities and inspiring teams to achieve operational excellence.

Please be aware that the Yorkshire Marathon takes place around York on Sunday 18 October. As a result, parking is expected to be busier than usual at both York Sport Village and York Sport Centre, and roads throughout the local area will be subject to temporary closures during the day.

We strongly advise all visitors to allow extra time for travel and parking when visiting our facilities. Further details regarding specific road closures across York can be found on the Yorkshire Marathon official event website.

Week 1: Mon–Wed (10:00–18:00), Fri (10:00–18:00), Sat (09:00–16:30)
Week 2: Mon–Thu (09:00–17:00), Fri (09:00–16:30)

Key Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills and a strong desire to interact with members and visitors.

We're incredibly honored to be hosting Angus Leckonby as part of this new national campaign by Coca-Cola and Special Olympics GB! Angus and his father will be hosting a charity swim for Special Olympics on 13 September at our York Sport Village pool.

Angus is hoping to inspire people with intellectual disabilities to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams.

"People sometimes underestimate what athletes with an intellectual disability can achieve – but I want to show that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and work hard.

"I hope my journey inspires others to give sport a go and have the confidence to chase their dreams."

We’re excited to welcome the Tadcaster York Sport Swim Squad Swim Gala to York Sport Village on 5 and 6 September! 🏆

To accommodate the event, please take note of the following changes to our pool timetable:
- Swimming Lessons: Running as normal on Saturday morning.
- Open & Lane Swimming: Closed from Saturday afternoon through all day Sunday.
