🔧 Changes to how we carry out repairs and maintenance
We’re changing the way we buy and manage materials for repairs and planned maintenance work across Your Caerphilly Homes properties.

These changes are designed to help our workforce work more efficiently and get repairs completed quicker.

What’s changing?

🚚 Materials delivered to your home
For routine and urgent repairs, any additional materials needed will be ordered and delivered to your property after our operative has arrived and prepared for the job. This means our operatives won’t need to leave your home to collect materials.

📱 Know when your operative is on the way
For planned repairs, we’ll send you a text message when your operative is on their way. This will give you more notice and help you prepare for their arrival.

We don’t expect these changes to have a negative impact on tenants. However, while we introduce the new arrangements, we ask for your patience.

If you experience any issues, please let us know so we can address them.

Mae hyn yn golygu na fydd angen i'n gweithredwyr adael eich cartref i brynu deunyddiau.

📣 Plans for up to 50 new homes for social rent in Bargoed have moved a step closer.
🏗️ Caerphilly County Borough Council has confirmed it will work in partnership with leading design and build main contractor Wynne Construction to deliver the new homes on the Park Estate.
🏘️ The new homes will be allocated to eligible people registered for social housing in the borough and will include a mix of two-bedroom bungalows, one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom family homes.

🍂 With the onset of autumn, windows will start misting up overnight as we sleep. This is perfectly normal.
🪟 Open the curtains and a window for a short time each morning for fresh air and use a disposable cloth to wipe away condensation from window glass and frames; this will stop black mould forming on your windows.

❓️ So, what do you do when you see black mould specks?
🧼 Use a mould remover spray. These can be easily found online, or at hardware shops or supermarkets. Through the winter, you might need to do this regularly. Remove small patches of mould before they spread! Avoid the use of bleach because this only take the colour out of the mould.

They will arrange for a surveyor to visit, assess the mould and suggest remedies.

📣 Plans to deliver new affordable homes in Pontymister are moving forward after Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet approved the transfer of the former Youth and Community Centre site at Brookland Road into its Housing Revenue Account.
🏘️ The move will allow the Council’s Caerphilly Homes team to progress proposals for up to 23 new low-carbon homes on the site. The homes will be available for social rent and allocated to eligible people registered for social housing in the borough.
