Ystradgynlais Town Council Ystradgynlais Town Council represents the communities of Ystradgynlais, Abercrave and Cwmtwrch.

Ystradgynlais Town Council Meetings are held at the Welfare Hall, Ystradgynlais on the second Thursday of every month. All meetings will commence at 6.30pm unless notification of a change of date/time is stated on the agenda for the meeting or in this annual schedule. Special Meetings of the Council will be convened from time to time dependent on the nature and urgency of the business to be trans

acted. All Council meetings are open to the public and press unless otherwise indicated as ‘Closed items’ on the agenda in which case the Council will resolve to conduct the meeting and the particular item in a closed session.

Have you seen what’s new? A drinking fountain (funded by a grant from Powys Nature Partnership) and a digital notice board (funded by Transforming Towns Partnership Grant and PAVO). The board is a work in progress so please be patient while we update the content!

In this hot weather our waste and recycling crews will be starting earlier than usual to avoid the hottest part of the day 🥵

**We will be starting to collect from 5am - please make sure your bins and boxes are out early so we don't miss them.**

On Saturday, the hot water cylinder was deliberately smashed off the wall in the Ystradgynlais Town Centre male toilets.

This is especially disappointing after a busy Saturday in town. The toilets were recently refurbished at considerable cost and are run entirely by volunteers. As a result, the male toilets will be closed until the cylinder is replaced, at a cost of around £400.

If you saw anything suspicious on Saturday, please get in touch. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and respect this community volunteer led facility.
