TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Maurice Bishop Highway to Sugar Mill Roundabout

Road works are continuing along the corridor between the M.B.I.A. area and the Sugar Mill Roundabout.

Road widening continues southbound between the CARICOM and the Sugar Mill Roundabout; northbound widening begins September 14; and paving resumes September 15 from the Calliste intersection to the M.B.I.A. bypass road.

Single-lane traffic will be in effect in active work zones, and motorists should expect possible delays. Please exercise caution, follow traffic directions and obey all posted signage.

Kanisha Alexander, 31 years old, farmer of Mt. Horne, St. Andrew has been arrested and charged by police with the offence of Non- Capital Murder by unlawfully causing the death of Ashandi Edwards, 26 years old, farmer of Mt. Horne, St. Andrew, by unlawful harm.

The charge stemmed from an investigation into a stabbing incident which occurred on Sunday, 6th September 2026 at Mt. Horne, St. Andrew.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Mr. Edwards and Ms. Alexander were involved in an altercation, during which Mr. Edwards sustained a stab wound. He was transported to the Princess Alice Hospital for medical treatment, where he was subsequently pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

Ms. Alexander is expected to make her first court appearance on Tuesday, 8th September 2026 at the St. Georgeโ€™s #3 Magistrateโ€™s Court.

The Commissioner of Police and members of the Royal Grenada Police Force extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
