*REMEMBERING THE SONS OF THE LANDπŸ‡¬πŸ‡*

_A piece✍🏾 by *EDMUND FANDOH-WILSON*_
_*[Youth Activist | Student Leader]*._

"66 Years ago, our fathers sighed in relief. As a people of culture, they fought long age battles to redeem this land and protect our heritage.
Yes, We remember the sacrifices of the patriotic sons, their scars, bruised skin, tears, their woes, the iron bars, chains and untold stories.

Having a great sense of hope, our fathers fought and had to give up their lives for us. They died by the gun and sword, watching smoke engulf their wounds. Their bruised skin had to kiss chains of rusted iron because of their rebellion and standing up against oppressors rule.

Yes, *"Non Sibi Sed Aliis"*, to them was not only a mantra, but a verb which was encrypted boldly in the thick chambers of their hearts. Our fathers were restrained by 'foreigners' in their own land. In their pursuit, they abandoned their hamlets and dreams to give the entire African continent Hope without thinking about self.

Ama GhanaπŸ‡¬πŸ‡, The black star of Hope and beacon of Africa’s liberty, the first fruit of joy, bought with the toil and blood of her sons; our forefathers. Our flag reminds us of the journey.
Today, let us remember the sacrifices of our fathers and celebrate all who gave us liberty. Yes, We remember. We celebrate their successes and learn from their Patriotism. Let us protect and defend their legacies with our might and strength.
Happy Independence Day."

*πŸŽ€πŸŽ€πŸŽ€πŸŽ€PINK OCTOBER - BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH πŸŽ€πŸŽ€πŸŽ€πŸŽ€*

Fellow Tesconites, due to our impending elections and other matters, our free BREAST SCREENING couldn’t be held this year as we did last year.

However on Friday and Saturday, the Women’s Wing of KUC Tescon will be giving out pink ribbons to be pinned on our dresses /shirts in honor of BREAST CANCER survivors and those we lost to the cancer globally.

The breast cancer ribbon has become the universal symbol of breast cancer, illustrating the cause, raising awareness and bringing together women in solidarity.
From a simple piece of ribbon affixed with a pin, we are able to show our support for loved ones battling breast cancer and our hope for a brighter future.

Our beautiful Tescon ladies will be around to help pin the ribbons alongside sharing sweets on campus.

Don’t Delay, Get Screened Now
