A high-powered security delegation led by the
Minister for National Security, Hon Albert Kan-Dapaah and
comprising the Upper East Regional Minister and Head of the
Regional Security Council, Hon Stephen Yakubu, the Deputy
National Security Coordinator, Hon Edward Kwaku Asomani.
Chief of the Army Staff, Maj Gen Thomas Oppong-Peprah and
the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson, visited the
11 Mechanised Battalion Area of Operation including Bawku and
Mognori Detachments in the Upper East Region on Thursday, 2
June 2022.
The visit was necessitated by the emerging threats of terrorism
along the northern frontiers of the country and the national
efforts to ward off these terrorists.
To this end, the delegation visited Pulmakom Detachment to
ascertain at first hand, the bare facts as regards force
protection, boundary issues with neighboring countries and the
total welfare of troops.
In a Durbar with troops, the Minister commended the Soldiers
for the good work done so far, adding that personnel of the Unit
had stayed true to their constitutional mandate to protect the
territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ghana at all times.
He assured them of government's efforts to deliver the
necessary resources to enable them work effectively and
efficiently.
Hon Kan-Dapaah therefore encouraged them to remain
professional, hardworking and vigilant in order to continue to
protect the north eastern frontiers of the country.
