On Monday, 18th May 2026, the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly carried out a demolition exercise at the Mallam Attah Market to pave way for the upgrade of the clinic into a modern four-storey hospital. The exercise was conducted by the task force of the Municipal Assembly with support from personnel of the National Security.

HANDOVER OF EQUIPMENTS TO MASTER CRAFT PERSONS AND APPRENTICES

The National Youth Authority Unit of the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly on 11th May 2026 organized a Handover ceremony of Equipment to Master Craft Persons and Apprentices under the National Apprenticeship Program.

Present at the ceremony was the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso central Hon. Abdul Rauf Tubazo, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Rudolf Collingwoode-Williams, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinator for the National Apprenticeship Program Mr. Jones Klutse, the Coordinating Director Mr. Ismael Nana Ogyefo, Unit Head for the National Youth Authority Madam Mary Kailey Marnah and other Heads of Department and Units.

A total number of Twenty-Five apprentice were trained by Four Trainers, with each Trainer training five apprentice each.

The presentations were done by the Member of Parliament Hon Tubazo with assistance from the M.C.E Hon Rudolph.

Twenty pieces of sewing machines were presented to the apprentices and four pieces of Industrial Machines were presented to Trainers.

The Beneficiaries thanked the Government through the MP and the Municipal Chief Executive, adding it will improve their livelihoods, and the Trainers also promised to train more apprentices in future with the help of the Industrial Machines they received.πŸ‡§πŸ‡΄

🚨 SITUATIONAL UPDATE – ACCRA NEW TOWN BUILDING COLLAPSE

On 29th March 2026 at about 4:45pm, a storey building collapsed at Accra New Town (Experimental School area), resulting in casualties and injuries.

Emergency responders, including the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, Ghana Armed Forces, Police, and Ambulance Service, swiftly intervened to rescue victims.

Also the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ayawaso Central, Hon. Rudulf Collingwoode-Williams, paid a visit to victims receiving treatment at various hospitals.
The visit formed part of efforts to assess the condition of victims and offer support to affected persons and their families.

All victims have been accounted for, and the site has been secured. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collapse.
