WAMI Continues Capacity Building on Upgraded DEPO/X System in Guinea
The West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), under the AfDB-funded Development of Domestic Debt Markets in the WAMZ – Phase I Project, is conducting a Technical and Functional Capacity Building Programme on the upgraded DEPO/X System at the Banque Centrale de la République de Guinée (BCRG) in Conakry.
The programme brings together financial market professionals, IT specialists, and commercial bank representatives to enhance their capacity in the use and administration of the upgraded Central Securities Depository platform. Participants are receiving practical training on securities issuance, settlement processes, reporting, system administration, and troubleshooting.
As part of the programme, a WAMI delegation led by the Director of Financial Integration and Project Director, Mr. Gassim Komara, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of BCRG to reaffirm the strong partnership between WAMI and Guinea in advancing domestic debt market development and regional financial integration.
The training is expected to strengthen Guinea’s capacity in government securities management and improve the efficiency, transparency, and resilience of domestic debt market operations. Following the Guinea session, the final phase of the regional programme will be held in The Gambia.
