ACA Leadership Engages Senegal’s Cashew Sector

The ACA Board President, Mr. Ibrahim Sanfo and the Managing Director, Mr. Ernest Mintah, undertook a working visit to Senegal last week, engaging key stakeholders including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Cashew Interprofession of Senegal (ICAS) and COSEC.

Discussions focused on strengthening the sector, including the effective use of the CFA 2O/kg of RCN private sector levy approved by law to support cashew sector development, increased investment in cashew research and addressing sector data gaps.

The ACA assured the Government of Senegal of its support in making the Cashew Barometer available to relevant agencies to strengthen data and market intelligence.

The ACA also took the opportunity to officially invite Senegal’s cashew stakeholders to the 2026 ACA Annual Cashew Conference and Expo, scheduled for 15th to 18th September 2026 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, under the theme “Sustainable Cashew Supply through Policy, Investment and Partnership.”

The ICAS equally extended an invitation to the Ministry to participate in the upcoming Senegal Cashew Day, which will take place from 26th – 28th November 2026.

The ACA expresses its appreciation to the Senegalese authority and industry stakeholders for the warm reception and constructive discussions. This visit reinforces ACA’s commitment to stronger government-private sector collaboration in ensuring sustainable growth of the cashew industry.
