The Ghana Open Data Initiative (GODI) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on Thursday held a meeting on the state of the Ghana Open Data Portal in Accra.
The meeting, which is a follow up to previous similar one-to-one engagements to show what has been done and to solicit the views of CSOs on what could be done going forward, was facilitated by the World Bank on the theme: “From Engaged Citizens to More Responsive Governance”.
The event brought together experts around the world to discuss key issues around Open Government Data.
It was an excellent opportunity to engage key stakeholders in a discussion on actions needed to support a data revolution in Ghana.
Many actors shared their deep knowledge and perspective on open data and government.
Our next meet-up would seek to define preferences and collaborate with key actors in the construction of a holistic national policy to unlock, expand, and spur innovation.
