AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL, GES.
Dear Dr. Eric Nkansah,
We, the Newly Posted Trained Teachers, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to you and your team for your assistance and facilitation in posting teachers from the 2022 batch of colleges of education. Your attentiveness and support mean a lot to us. Your leadership at the Ghana Education Service has been exceptional, particularly with the introduction of the self-posting module, which we greatly appreciate.
As an African proverb goes, "Milk and honey have different colors, but they share the same house peacefully." We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our pupils, but we still need your help with generating our staff IDs and paying our salaries. Historically, newly posted teachers have had to wait months for their salaries, a trend we hope you will change. Your exceptional leadership since your appointment in October 2022 by President Nana Akufo-Addo has given us hope.
It has been two months since we reported to our new stations, but we are yet to receive any information about our salaries. We are struggling and need our salaries to continue delivering quality education. We are aware of your extensive experience spanning the fields of education, banking, finance, research, policy formulation, and implementation . And we hope that you attend to us. We again urge you to hear our plea.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Salifu Madina Malik
